This is a nonprofit organization based in the UNESCO Cape Horn Biosphere Reserve at the southernmost tip of South America. With the University of Magallanes, the foundation manages the Omora Ethnobotanical Park and helps coordinate the Sub-Antarctic Biocultural Conservation Program.

In addition to the University of Magallanes, the Institute of Ecology and Biodiversity in Chile and the University of North Texas in the United States are partners in the program. Omora hosts hundreds of visiting scholars and scientists annually in the Cape Horn Biosphere Reserve, running programs aimed at elementary to postgraduate-level education. Based in Cochamó, at the northern entrance of Patagonia, the nonprofit Puelo Patagonia works with the local community to conserve the region’s environmental and cultural heritage, promoting responsible development of the area and its economy.
