Alhamdulillah, Ramadan-ul-Mubarak has just started, and I thank Almighty Allah who has given us the opportunity and time to gather as many beneficences as we can. Specifically, I pray to Allah to give us the generosity and ability to make this world and hereafter better in this month of Ramadan that brings endless blessings.
Today, my topic is not the importance and superiority of Ramadan, rather Allah is the greatest. How great is Allah? The greatest.
Let me help you understand with a little example how great and superior is Allah SWT. Who has kept us in our mother’s womb for 9 months and fed us?
Without a doubt, Allah is the nurturer! Who taught us how to eat and speak? No doubt, our Lord, Allah.
If we see and observe our bodies, we unsolicitedly say “Allah is the Greatest”. What isn’t in a human body? Heart, brain, eyes, ears, teeth, bones, blood and a lot we don’t even know. However, Allah has created everything with immense beauty and perfection. At the moment, the world’s population is about 8 billion and every person is different from the other. Not only do humans exist in this world but so many other creatures, most of them are unknown to us, and we can’t see all those creatures.
71% of the earth is filled with water while the remaining 29% consists of continents and islands. There are small and large creatures in the sea. Verily in the alteration of day and night are the signs for the people of understanding. Allah says in Quran, “ولقد زينا السماء الدنيا بمصابيح” And We have certainly beautified the nearest heaven with stars”. Do you know how big the sun is compared to earth? Yes, 1 million earths will make up a sun. That’s how big the sun is! The interesting thing is that the sun is a star, and there are stars in this system even hundreds and million times bigger than the sun. These millions and billions stars make up a galaxy, and there are billions and trillions galaxies in this universe. It’s amazing that all this and much more is the creation of Allah SWT. Allah has created seven skies. Allah is the Greatest.
The distance from one sky and the other is around 500 years, and Allah SWT knows at what speed this distance would be covered in 500 years. And after the seventh sky, there is a Kursi of Allah. Allah is the Greatest. وسع كُرْسِيُّهُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ means “His Kursi encompasses the heavens and the earth,” Allah is the Greatest. And the sky and the earth are nothing compared to Allah’s Kursi. Allah is the Greatest. And after the Kursi of Allah SWT, there is the great throne of Allah which is even greater than His Kursi, and how great? This is only in the knowledge of Allah SWT. There are huge angels in large numbers holding this throne. Allah is the Greatest. After them all is the nurturer of us all, the creator of this universe, the one who owns the Kursi, throne and big angels, Allah SWT. Allah is the Greatest. If we try to think, we can’t, and if we try to see, we can’t, how great is Allah SWT. I want to end this by quoting on Ayat
“Allah! There is no god ˹worthy of worship˺ except Him, the Ever-Living, All-Sustaining. Neither drowsiness nor sleep overtakes Him. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who could possibly intercede with Him without His permission? He ˹fully˺ knows what is ahead of them and what is behind them, but no one can grasp any of His knowledge—except what He wills ˹to reveal˺. His Kursi encompasses the heavens and the earth, and the preservation of both does not tire Him. For He is the Most High, the Greatest.” Allah is the Greatest.
In the end, I would like to say “nothing from our good deeds and bad deeds cause any difference to Allah’s greatness. They will only benefit and harm us. Hence, try to gather as many beneficences as we can so that we can get rewarded on the Day of Judgment.
May Allah SWT make us one of His obedient people. Aameen.
