Guests are charged a nightly fee of $40, while the actual cost per room per night is $82; the difference is subsidized by the organization.  Additional support services include free parking, transportation to and from Duke University Hospital, and various activities such as game nights, prayer services, musical performances, oncology massage, chair yoga, jewelry making, and art therapy.  Since its inception, Caring House has accommodated over 13,159 patients and their caregivers, fostering a community of care and alleviating financial and emotional burdens during treatment.  

Urban Ministries of Durham

Urban Ministries of Durham (UMD) is a non-profit organization based in Durham, North Carolina, dedicated to serving individuals and families facing homelessness and poverty. UMD provides essential services, including shelter, food, and clothing, to support those in need.
