Minor surgical procedures and rabies vaccinations are just two of the services that can be provided within the comfort of one of these mobile clinics. More than 74,700 animals have been rescued thanks to this initiative.

Karuna was founded on Buddhist principles with the goal of eliminating caste prejudice, poverty, and inequality in India and Nepal. Changing communities and the world at large begins with empowering individuals via education, respectable employment, and parity between the sexes.

The Asian elephant, previously common throughout India, is now on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species. About a quarter to a half of Asia’s 40,000-50,000 wild elephants live in India. The illegal trade in ivory, flesh, hides, and other elephant body parts is on the rise.
