AAM Nation Care

History Of Social Welfare In Pakistan?

The aim of AAM Nation is to help the people of the nations we are based in, to lift people out of poverty, and to help people grow. To that end, it’s important to understand the environment that we operate in and just why organizations like ours are necessary. Here is a brief history of social welfare in Pakistan for that reason.

The emergence of a new country

The Government of Pakistan sought the help of the United Nations in 1951. In response, trained workers were sent to train unskilled workers to run social welfare activities and programs independently. Based on the UN’s advice, the Health Division also formulate the nation’s first social welfare program in 1953. This included social work training, development projects, as well as helping voluntary agencies grow.

Establishing the Council of Social Welfare

This council was created in 1956 with the aim of directing welfare activities to NGOs, with one council and directorate in each provincial government, before becoming the Social Welfare Department of Pakistan. Since then, it has attempted to offer all manner of technical assistance towards organizations that are working for the betterment of the people, such as by developing skillsets of organization workers and providing grants.

Building a healthy social support network in Pakistan has always been a goal of the nation, but it’s one that requires more help still. Organizations like ours help to not only fill the existing gaps but to show the need for more social welfare, as well. For that reason, we humbly ask every reader to consider what they can donate to help AAM Nation Care.
